Galapagos

 Galápagos, My Island Song

by Abe Sanoja

I wandered where the wild still sings,
To islands kissed by ocean wings.
The Galápagos, where time stands still,
And every breeze brings nature's will.

I met kind souls from far and wide,
Together drawn by waves and tide.
No borders here, just open hearts,
Each day a world where wonder starts.

We watched the giant tortoises roam,
Slow steps upon their ageless home.
Marine iguanas basked in light,
Their shadows dancing into night.

Blue-footed boobies dared the sky,
While flamingos blushed and glided by.
Penguins played where currents curled,
And seals slept gently, in their world.

Crabs like jewels on lava black,
Bright little creatures crossed our track.
Forests whispered tales so old,
Volcanoes deep and bold and cold.

The sunsets lit the sea on fire,
The mornings woke the heart’s desire.
And snorkeling in waters clear,
The reef revealed its colors near.

Each breath I took, a sacred gift,
Each moment gave my spirit lift.
Galápagos you changed my view,
Of Earth, of life, of what is true.
